Meet local nomads, ride horses across the endless steppe, and experience a camel ride through the golden sand dunes of the Mini Gobi while exploring Mongolia’s breathtaking natural beauty and ancient heritage.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 Terelj National Park
After breakfast, drive to Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue at Tsonjin Boldog to visit the impressive equestrian statue of Genghis Khan, the tallest statue of its kind in the world. From the top of the monument, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding steppe while learning more about Mongolia’s rich history. Continue to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, known for its dramatic granite rock formations and picturesque valleys. Visit the famous Turtle Rock, one of the park’s natural landmarks, before taking a 30-minute horseback ride through the scenic landscape to Aryabal Meditation Temple. From there, enjoy a short uphill walk to the temple, where peaceful surroundings and beautiful views await. In the late afternoon, attend a Mongolian nomadic cultural presentation, where you will gain insight into the traditional nomadic lifestyle. Learn how nomadic families live in gers, how they dismantle and move their homes across the steppe, and how they produce dairy products using age-old techniques. You will also have the opportunity to meet eagle hunters and learn about their unique heritage and hunting traditions. Meals: L, D
Day 2 Khustai National Park
After breakfast, continue driving west to the remarkable Khustain Nuruu National Park, internationally known for the successful reintroduction of the endangered Przewalski’s horse, locally called Takhi the world’s last remaining truly wild horse species. Explore the park through scenic drives and short walks while observing wildlife in its natural habitat. In addition to the Takhi horses, the park is home to marmots, red deer, foxes, eagles, and many other native species. The rolling hills and endless grasslands create stunning landscapes ideal for photography and peaceful exploration. In the evening, check in to your tourist camp or Guest house located within the vast open steppe. Enjoy dinner and a relaxing overnight stay surrounded by Mongolia’s tranquil wilderness. Day 3 Ugii Lake
Following breakfast, travel toward the tranquil landscapes of Ugii Lake, a freshwater lake famous for its calm scenery and abundant birdlife. Along the way, enjoy endless views of Mongolia’s rolling steppe dotted with grazing animals and nomadic households. Upon arrival, take a relaxing walk along the lakeshore and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this hidden natural gem. The lake is a paradise for birdwatchers and photographers, especially during migration seasons when many species gather around the water. Depending on weather and seasonal conditions, optional activities such as boating, fishing, or swimming may also be available. In the evening, witness a beautiful sunset reflecting across the calm waters of the lake before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay at a nearby tourist camp. Meals: B, L, D
Day 4 Elsen Tasarkhai & Kharkhorin
After breakfast, continue to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire established by Chinggis Khan in the 13th century. Visit the historic Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia’s oldest Buddhist monastery, famous for its beautiful architecture, ancient temples, and surrounding white stupas. You will also visit the Kharkhorin Museum to explore fascinating archaeological artifacts and learn more about the history of the Mongol Empire and the Silk Road connections that once passed through this region. In the afternoon, drive to Elsen Tasarkhai, also known as the Mini Gobi. This unique landscape combines golden sand dunes, rocky hills, and green grasslands in one stunning location. Enjoy a memorable camel riding experience across the dunes on a traditional two-humped Bactrian camel. Later, visit a local nomadic family and experience authentic Mongolian hospitality while learning about their everyday lifestyle and traditions. Spend the night with the family or at a nearby ger camp, surrounded by the silence and beauty of the steppe. Meals: B, L, D
Day 5 Return to Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, begin the return drive to Ulaanbaatar. Along the journey, enjoy your final views of Mongolia’s endless steppe landscapes and nomadic countryside. Arriving in the city in the afternoon, enjoy free time for shopping at local souvenir stores and cashmere shops, where you can find traditional Mongolian products and gifts. In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner and reflect on the unforgettable experiences, landscapes, and cultural encounters shared throughout your Mongolian adventure. Meals: B, L, D
