Our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and begin the journey to the Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue Complex at Tsonjin Boldog. Visit the impressive statue of Genghis Khan, the tallest equestrian statue in the world, and take the elevator to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding steppe while learning about Mongolia’s rich history. Continue to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, famous for its dramatic granite rock formations and scenic valleys. Visit the iconic Turtle Rock, one of the park’s most recognizable natural landmarks, then enjoy a short hike to the peaceful Aryabal Meditation Temple. Day 2White Stupa (Tsagaan Suvarga)
BreakfastLunchDinner
⌄
After an early breakfast at the hotel, begin your journey toward the Gobi Desert and the spectacular White Stupa (Tsagaan Suvarga). This breathtaking limestone escarpment rises nearly 30 meters high and stretches for hundreds of meters, shaped by wind and water erosion over millions of years. The colorful layers of white, pink, and orange resemble the ruins of an ancient city. The area was once covered by a prehistoric sea, and marine fossils can still be found scattered across the surrounding plains. Enjoy a guided walk along the cliffs, panoramic photo stops, and time to admire the vast open landscapes of the Gobi. In the late afternoon, arrive at a nearby tourist camp, check in, and enjoy dinner under the wide Mongolian sky. Meals: B, L, DDay 2 - White Stupa
Day 3Yol Valley
BreakfastLunchDinner
⌄
After breakfast, continue your journey deeper into the Gobi region toward Yol Valley, inside Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park — home to dramatic mountain ranges, deep canyons, and rare wildlife. Yol Valley, also known as the “Valley of the Vultures,” is famous for its towering rock walls and permanent ice fields that often remain frozen even during the summer months. Explore the valley on a scenic horseback riding tour, following narrow trails along the frozen riverbed and between high canyon walls. Keep an eye out for ibex, wild sheep, and soaring lammergeier vultures overhead. In the evening, arrive at your tourist camp, enjoy dinner, and relax in the peaceful desert surroundings. Meals: B, L, DDay 3 - Yol Valley
Day 4Khongor Sand Dunes
BreakfastLunchDinner
⌄
After a hearty breakfast, depart for the legendary Khongor Sand Dunes, the largest and most impressive dunes in Mongolia. These golden dunes, known as the “Singing Dunes,” stretch over 180 kilometers and rise more than 300 meters high. When the wind blows, the sand creates a deep humming sound that echoes across the desert, giving the area a mystical atmosphere. Visit a local nomadic camel herding family and enjoy a traditional welcome. Experience a memorable Bactrian camel ride across the desert landscape, explore nearby green oases, and climb to the top of the dunes for breathtaking panoramic views of the Gobi Desert. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay. Meals: B, L, DDay 4 - Khongor Sand Dunes
Day 5Bayanzag — The Flaming Cliffs
BreakfastLunchDinner
⌄
After breakfast, journey to Bayanzag, famously known as the Flaming Cliffs. This world-renowned paleontological site became famous after the discovery of the world’s first dinosaur eggs by explorer Roy Chapman Andrews in the 1920s. The red sandstone cliffs glow brilliantly under the sunlight, especially during sunset, creating one of the most iconic landscapes in Mongolia. Explore the fascinating cliffs on foot while learning about the region’s prehistoric past and dinosaur fossil discoveries. Later, continue to Dalanzadgad and visit the local Gobi Museum to gain deeper insight into the desert’s wildlife, geology, and history. Dinner and overnight stay at a local hotel. Meals: B, L, DDay 5 - Bayanzag
Day 6Baga Gazriin Chuluu
BreakfastLunchDinner
⌄
After breakfast, depart for Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a striking granite mountain formation rising from the middle of the open steppe. This unique area is known for its fascinating rock formations, hidden caves, ancient inscriptions, and peaceful natural scenery. Explore the rocky landscape on foot while discovering narrow passages, small springs, and historical remains connected to old monasteries. As evening approaches, enjoy a spectacular sunset as the granite rocks glow in warm golden and red colors beneath the vast Mongolian sky. Dinner and overnight stay at a nearby tourist camp. Meals: B, L, DDay 6 - Baga Gazriin Chuluu

Along the way, there will be several opportunities to stop for short breaks, stretch your legs, and capture a few final photographs of the endless steppe. Small group, big landscapes
★★★★★• Aug 2025

There were only four of us plus our guide, which made the whole week feel relaxed and flexible. Terelj on day one set a great tone, and by the time we reached the Khongor dunes we felt like a little family. Highly recommend the small-group format over a big bus tour.

Terelj to the Flaming Cliffs in one trip
★★★★★• Sep 2025

I loved that this itinerary opened with Terelj instead of just diving straight into the desert — it eased us in before the long Gobi driving days. Bayanzag at sunset was unreal, and our guide’s knowledge of the dinosaur history made it even better.

Loved the pace of a 7-day trip
★★★★★• Oct 2025

A week was just enough time to cover the Gobi highlights without feeling rushed. Baga Gazriin Chuluu on the way back was a real surprise — almost no other tourists there, and the sunset light on the granite was gorgeous.

Camel ride at Khongor was the highlight
★★★★★• Jun 2025

Climbing the singing dunes at sunset with our host family’s camels is something I’ll never forget. Everything was well organised for such a small group, and the ger camps were much more comfortable than I expected.
